The South-East of France : exceptional climbing terrain
From the Calanques of Marseille to the Gorges du Verdon, Buoux or Montagne Sainte-Victoire, our region offers exceptional terrain for climbing. White limestone above the sea, towering vertical walls and world-famous crags. Each site has its own character and something unique to offer.
Whether you are discovering outdoor climbing for the first time, transitioning from a gym to rock climbing, or building your autonomy and expertise in multi-pitch, every session is shaped around your goals and your experience.
Who is it for?
Beginners, gym climbers making the move to outdoor, intermediate climbers working towards greater autonomy, or experienced climbers looking to take on demanding routes: the programme is adapted to your level. Multi-pitch sessions accommodate one to 5 people depending on your profile; crag sessions can run with groups of up to 8.
Crag or multi-pitch?
Crag climbing takes place on single-pitch routes: ideal for an introduction to climbing, or a technical focus session to push your grade. You rest at the ground between attempts; these sessions are the perfect opportunity to work on movement, technical repertoire and belay skills.
Multi-pitch climbing allows you to link several rope lengths to climb high walls, reach summits and viewpoints otherwise inaccessible. A different dimension of the sport, a genuine vertical journey where mastering progression and belay technique becomes a real asset.
Multi-pitch introduction is accessible from beginner level with the right guidance.
Seasons and destinations
Climbing is possible in the region year-round by choosing the right orientation. The Calanques and Cap Canaille are at their best in autumn, winter and spring. The Verdon works year-round except in the depths of winter inside the gorge. Sainte-Victoire is reserved for the cooler seasons. The many local crags offer a wide range of styles, grades and ideal conditions to discover throughout your climbing journey: Buoux, Chateauvert, the Toulon area, the Alpilles and many more.
